The Wao-os Shrine in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom presents players with a clever physics puzzle known as Lever Power. Located within the cold reaches of the Hebra region, finding and entering this hidden shrine requires exploring subterranean cavern systems. Understanding how to navigate the terrain and master its catapult mechanics makes securing the Light of Blessing a seamless task.
Finding the Wao-os Shrine Location
To reach the Wao-os Shrine, travelers must head toward the Hebra Mountains area near the western side of Lake Totori. The entrance is tucked away inside the cave under Passer Hill, requiring Link to venture underground rather than search the open surface. Following the cave path leads straight to the glowing green shrine pedestal.
Players can also unlock this location by following the White Bird's Guidance shrine quest given near Rito Village. Spotting the shadow of a bird-shaped landscape feature leads directly toward the cave entrance. Using nearby Skyview Towers makes gliding into the surrounding valleys quick and efficient.
Solving the First Lever Power Target
Upon stepping into the Wao-os Shrine, players will encounter a large see-saw apparatus and a wooden bowl. Use the Ultrahand ability to attach the bowl to the end of the lever mechanism furthest from the target. Place the nearby sphere inside the attached bowl so it stays secure during launch.
Next, lift the heavy metal cube high above the opposite end of the lever using Ultrahand. Releasing the metal block drops it onto the lever, flinging the sphere forward into the illuminated circular target on the far wall. Hitting the target successfully unlocks the door leading to the next chamber.
Extending the Lever for the Second Target
In the second section, the target is located much farther away across the cavernous room. Retrieve the extra wooden plank provided near the doorway and attach it to the existing lever to extend its launch reach. Reattach the wooden bowl to the very tip of this newly extended plank.
Place a new sphere into the bowl and repeat the process of dropping the heavy metal cube from a high height. The added length provides enough momentum to launch the sphere across the long gap directly into the distant target. Striking this second target opens the gate to the final reward room.
Claiming the Hidden Chest and Shrine Reward
Before finishing the trial, players should secure the optional treasure chest located on a high ledge. Place Link directly inside the wooden bowl on the lever mechanism and drop the metal cube onto the opposite side to launch yourself into the air. Deploy the Paraglider at the peak of the launch to glide safely to the chest platform.
After opening the chest to claim its contents, glide back down toward the altar room. Interact with the glowing altar to collect your Light of Blessing and complete the shrine. With the puzzle solved, players can freely exit back to the snowy Hebra wilderness.
